Lorrie and I met as two women in a life design class. When I shared what I was working on, she immediately shot me a note, and said, "We have to talk."
She was right. We DID have to talk. I shared my story of wanting to drive off the road. She shared hers right back of actually driving off the road. She said, "The fog almost killed me"; and then said, "And, I mean the literal fog, but also the fog of fear, obligation and guilt."
Damn.
Trauma is a part of the human experience; but it's my experience that our ability to find meaning, purpose and lessons is where growth happens. And, it's hard as hell.
I recently wrote, "I didn't need to change, I needed to make changes." When we say something doesn't work, it might imply we need to change; however when we say something doesn't work for us, it instead implies that we need to make changes to meet our needs.
It's small, but so so powerful. Give it a go this week, and I promise you, these two words are about to change your life.
